Where Can I Serve?
Spirit of Life Church is a small, but growing, church. We believe the church as a whole needs a solid foundation of the Word. That is what you receive here—the Word of God with the Holy Spirit flowing in our services. To help our church become more solid in its foundation and to reach out to the world, we depend on dedicated volunteers who help to keep Spirit of Life Church flowing in the Spirit and growing in the Word. We have many ministries that are already functioning and many others developing.
Mission Outreach
Spirit of Life Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We have at times sent some of our members out on mission trips like Haiti & the Philippines. We encourage our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move or just visit a foreign country.
Music
Praise and worship is an integral part of our services. We have a blend of current upbeat praise songs and warm, gentle worship songs to glorify God. We believe praising and worshiping God prepares the hearts of the people to hear from the Lord. We have a worship team who play their instruments and some are vocalists. We praise God for the talents they use to glorify Him.
Ushers
The usher team at Spirit of Life Church fills an important role. They are involved helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, solving issues that may arise during service, providing assistance to Pastor in prayer lines, serving communion, taking offering, and other duties as directed by Pastor. The usher team is a group of men and women available to serve in a vital way in the church.
Media & Sound
We have dedicated people who help with the sound booth, making sure all vocal and instruments are coming through and all microphones are working properly. We are set up to record the weekly sermons on audio, with a vision of video down the road. The sermons are uploaded onto our website and available as mp3s for people to listen to online, download, or subscribe with iPods. We also have an active Facebook page for church interaction through the week.
Prayer
Prayer is vital part of our church life. God works through our prayers. When we pray in the Spirit, we are praying mysteries and divine secrets of God. These need to be prayed out for the church corporately and individually. On Wednesdays, we have a time of Bible study and prayer. God is beginning to develop our prayer ministry at Spirit of Life Church.
Children’s Church
We believe it is important to help children become established in God’s Word at an early age. We have children’s church for children ages kindergarten through 6th grade. They learn Bible truths through teaching, interactive play, and skits, which is better suited to their age and learning style. We appreciate our children’s church volunteer teachers who use their God-given creativity to help the children learn the Bible. We also have those who love to help with the children and serve as teacher helpers.
AMPED Youth
We have a youth group for ages 7th through 12th grade that meets on Wednesday evenings. They participate in God-centered activities and have fun, interacting with the leader and other teens in learning Bible truths. On Sunday mornings, we have a Youth Bible Class during service in which our Youth Leader teaches them the Word directed toward issues facing teens today. One Sunday a month, they join the adults in the main sanctuary.
Hospitality Ministry
We have a group of women who help with the food for funerals, provide baby gifts for new parents, and help with special events. These volunteers love the Lord and desire to show God’s love and compassion to others.
Men’s Ministry
We have a Men’s Bible study and prayer. The men who lead these have a desire for men to connect, grow in the Lord, and encourage other men in their walk with God.
